Our dog training holidays combine comfortable, dog-friendly accommodation at Woodgate Farm with tailored one-to-one training from Claire Hough of Clever Clogs Canine Training.

Training is carefully fitted around your stay, leaving you plenty of time to explore, relax and enjoy your holiday together.

Learn how to train your dog with confidence 

These breaks are designed to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to continue training your dog when you return home.

Claire will work with you and your dog throughout the sessions. This is not a residential programme where your dog is taken away and trained for you.

Instead, you’ll receive practical, reward-based coaching tailored to your dog, your lifestyle and the difficulties you are experiencing. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what to practise and how to continue making progress at home.

Sessions may take place around the farm or in carefully selected local environments, depending on your dog’s individual needs and training goals.

Stay in our dog-friendly holiday cottage, The Byre, or bring your own caravan or motorhome to Woodgate Farm Caravan Site. Accommodation is booked and charged separately from your dog training, allowing you to choose the stay that best suits you.

The Byre

A comfortable, dog-friendly two-bedroom holiday cottage sleeping up to four people, with two bathrooms, a private hot tub and beautiful countryside on the doorstep.

Woodgate Farm Caravan Site

Our peaceful five-pitch site offers fully serviced hard-standing pitches, electric hook-up and modern shower and toilet facilities.

Caravan and Motorhome Club membership is required.

Focus Session

One hour of individual training
£55

Available to guests staying at Woodgate Farm or elsewhere in the local area.

Ideal for working through a particular difficulty, improving a specific skill or creating a practical training plan.

Mini Training Break

Three hours of individual training
£150

A focused but relaxed training package that fits comfortably around a shorter stay.

Sessions are tailored to you and your dog and arranged flexibly around your holiday.

Extended Training Break

Five hours of individual training
£240

Suitable for stays of four to seven nights.

A more comprehensive package for owners wanting time to understand their dog, develop their handling skills and work progressively towards longer-term goals.

ENQUIRE ABOUT AN EXTENDED BREAK
All packages include personalised homework and relevant supporting videos sent through WhatsApp, helping you to continue making progress between sessions and after your holiday.

What could we work on?

Every training holiday is tailored to you and your dog. Areas we may work on include:

Dogs experiencing reactivity, anxiety or more complex behavioural difficulties are also welcome.

Please provide as much information as possible when enquiring so Claire can advise whether a training holiday is suitable and create an appropriate plan.

How your training holiday works

Planning your dog training holiday is simple. We’ll make sure your chosen accommodation and suitable training times are available before you confirm your booking.

1. Tell me about your dog

Let me know about your dog, what you’d like help with, your preferred dates and whether you’re interested in The Byre or the Woodgate Farm Caravan Site.

2. I’ll check availability

I’ll check my training availability alongside your preferred holiday dates and recommend the most suitable training package for you and your dog.

3. Book your stay and training

Once availability has been confirmed, you can book your accommodation and secure your chosen training package.

4. We’ll plan your sessions

Before you arrive, I’ll arrange your individual training sessions, giving you plenty of time to practise, relax and enjoy your holiday too.

If training is an essential part of your stay, please don’t confirm your accommodation until training availability has been checked.

Accommodation and dog training are booked separately.

Bringing more than one dog?

You’re very welcome to include more than one dog in your training holiday. Each dog will need their own handler during practical training sessions so that everyone can take part safely and get the most from the coaching.

Your package price covers Claire’s training time rather than a set number of dogs. If your dogs need to work separately or require different areas of training, additional training time may be recommended.

Please tell me about each dog when enquiring so I can advise you on the most suitable package and session structure.

I’m Claire, the owner and trainer behind Clever Clogs Canine Training. With over 20 years’ experience, I help dogs and their owners develop practical skills using kind, reward-based training tailored to their individual needs.

As an assessed member of the APDT, my focus is on giving you clear, achievable training that fits into everyday life — helping you understand your dog and continue making progress long after your holiday.
